In loving memory of
John M. Kelly Sr.
This site is dedicated to the memory of John M. Kelly Sr., who was born December 27th, 1929, and passed away on November 12th, 2010, at the age of 80. His life touched many others, and in this way, this site will allow his memory to live on. He was a teacher just as much in school as he was at home. He was an unassuming man who believed in the equality of others, and always had a generous, giving spirit. If he had any assumptions, it was that we all had an obligation to help each other out while we had only so much time alive. If you are a relative, or a former student, please contact us so we may add to this site. Mr. Kelly was full of anecdotes and knowledge, and would have loved to have a place to share them all.
Mrs. Kelly helped make this page with loving care. Dad, Mom had called for you. She told you to stop being obstinate and bring the car around to pick her up. She put her hat on, and waited for five days, and on October 17th at 11:35am she walked into your arms in heaven, pain free and peacefully. May you both rest in peace eternally. Mom, I will say the prayer of St. Jude as I promised for you every night. I love you both and will do everything in my power to live up to the roles you both lived by.
Lord be praised, as I’m amazed
to see how things have mended!
Cakes and pies before my eyes
where porridge was intended!

Brentwood, NY
This page has the history of Mr. Kelly when he lived on Long Island in the town of Islip, city of Brentwood.
Sometime in the early 70’s, 197? to be exact, Mr. Kelly moved his young wife and their 4 children to Wurz Street. His youngest son was not yet born, and his first son was born in the winter of 1969. Mrs. Kelly had 3 children from a previous marriage; Mr. Kelly had adopted them.
Life on Wurz Street was idyllic, the house had 3 bedrooms and one bathroom, with a cellar, on a ¼ acre lot. The street was lined with silver and Norway maples, large oaks, pine trees, and in the spring bright yellow forsythia. There was a park at the end of the street, and all the neighbors knew each other by name.
There were too many people putting spam and advertisements on this page. Here is a copy of what was written.

Dad, the virtual weeds in the form of spam seem to sprout up overnight on your website. I only wish you were here to respond.

I remember getting awoken many times at about 6am when my dad would say “Johnny, wake up. No school today, it’s a snow day, we got a foot of snow last night.” And in a daze, I would look out the window to see no snow, and my dad would say “April fools!” He had such a good sense of humor. I love you, Dad.

My dad said that Poppot always said the second Tuesday of next week when he didn’t want to commit to an answer. Here is one for you what is two days before the days after tomorrow?

John was my younger brother and one thing that really stood out about him was that he never complained, no matter how hard things were. Here is a story I remember from when John was only 10 or 12 years old:
One summer a neighbor invited us to go to a camp. While we were there, John
accidentally bumped into a beehive, and was stung by just about every bee in the hive. But he never
complained or cried a tear.In fact, the next day he found out where the nearest Catholic church was and insisted we go, even though we had to walk 3 miles each way. Beestings and all, he never complained once.

Thank you Carol, Denise, and Vanessa for signing the guest book! My mom and I just scanned a bunch of pictures over the holiday, and will have more forthcoming. I will copy any pictures into the gallery, and will soon organize the pictures. We wanted to get them up on the site as quick as we could, and will sort through them in time. I would also like to place any history of the families here, so anything you would like to share, please do so. My dad was a huge believer in technology, I owe my livelihood to his interest in science and computers. I know he would have loved to have this site in his memory, but he would have been too modest while he was alive.

This is Fay’s Daughter, One of the twins. In the picture, I’m the one in the wedding dress, Fay is on the floor, break dancing.
The last time I saw Uncle John, I was about 17 and he lived in NY. He’s changed alot since then of course. I never realized how much my brother, Joe resembles him. I can see him trimming my mothers forsythia bushes in the front yard now.

Hi Aunt Marilyn, Joe, Rich, Laura, John, and Steve, This is Fay’s daughter, Carol. I was so sorry to hear about Uncle John. I wish I had had the chance to know him better. I mainly remember all of my older siblings talking about how much fun he was! Thank you for posting these pictures. It’s so clear from this memorial site how filled with love his life was. I will have to tell my sisters how to help my mom see it. She told me about it, but she does not know computers at all. She sends her love.
